A list of names for sorting people into types, such as "Staff" or "Agent", kept from the older version of the system.
Nothing in the system reads it today. A user's type does not change what they can do or see. That is decided by their role in Access Roles. You can leave this list empty.
When to use it
Only if you want a type list for your own reference. Most companies never need it.
Where to find it
Setup > User > User Type.
The fields on this screen
| Field (on screen) | What to enter | Required |
|---|---|---|
| User Type name | (not explained yet) | No |
Adding a record
- Open Setup > User > User Type and click Add / New.
- Enter the User Type name.
- Save.
Tips and common mistakes
- Do not use types to control access. A type gives nobody any rights and takes none away. Use Access Roles.
