Every bounce, one row each, including cheques that were later presented again and cleared: why it bounced, whose failure it was, any charge recovered, when it was re-presented and how it ended.
When to use it
- To follow up the bounced cheques still waiting for a decision.
- To review a customer's bounce history before accepting another cheque from them.
- To check that bounce charges were recovered.
Where to find it
Reports > Banking > Bounced & Re-presented Cheques.
The fields on this screen
| Field (on screen) | What to enter | Required |
|---|---|---|
| From / To | The period of the bounces. Defaults to the fiscal year | No |
| Direction | Received or Issued. Blank for both | No |

Reading the result
- Bounce # counts the bounces of the same cheque: 2 means it bounced a second time.
- Whose failure is the answer given when the bounce was recorded: the customer's cheque failed, or it came back for other reasons.
- Outcome is what happened next: Awaiting decision, Re-presented (in clearing, cleared or bounced again), Back in hand, Voided / written off, or Cleared.
- The newest bounce is at the top; Amount and Charge recovered are totalled at the foot.
Tips and common mistakes
- The Cheque Register's Bounced Cheques version shows only cheques bounced right now. This report keeps every bounce, even after the cheque cleared.
