How it works
A student can hold only one enrolment in one academic session. If you try to enrol the same student twice in the same year, the save is refused. Edit the existing record instead.
The enrolment is the roster for the session. A student's position can change during or at the end of the year: promoted, failed, transferred, dropped or passed out. When it does, change the standing on this same record instead of adding another one. Next session gets a fresh enrolment against the new academic year, and last year's record stays as it was. That is how you can still say which class a student sat in two years ago.
Attendance and Mark Entry are taken by class and section and pick students directly, so they do not wait on an enrolment. Keeping the enrolment right still matters. It is the class list you report from, and the record of where a student belonged.
Tips and common mistakes
- Pick the class first. The Section list offers only sections of the class you chose, and stays empty until you choose one.
- A class or section that has been made inactive is no longer offered, even if older records still show students against it.
- Leave the enrolled date blank if you do not know the exact joining date.
