The link between a student and a guardian. One student can have several guardians and one guardian can have several children, so the link is recorded here and not on either record.
When to use it
When a student is admitted, and whenever a parent or guardian is added, changed or removed.
Before you start
The Student and the Guardian must both already exist. You need rights to create masters.

The fields on this screen

How it works
- Pick the Student and the Guardian, say how they are related, and tick Primary contact and Emergency contact where they apply. A student and a guardian can be linked only once, so to change the relationship you edit the link that is already there.
- This screen decides what a parent sees in the app. A guardian who has been given a login sees only the children linked to them here, on the guardian screens such as the marksheet and the fee position. Add a link and the child appears for them. Remove it and the child disappears.
- A guardian with a login and no link here sees nothing at all. That is on purpose: when in doubt the app shows nothing, never everybody's children.
Tips and common mistakes
- If a parent says they cannot see one of their children in the app, the missing link is here.
- Two children of the same parent are two records, one per child.
- The guardian's own name, contact number, occupation and address live on the Guardian record. This screen only says who belongs to whom.
