The list of classes, grades or semesters your school or college teaches. Almost everything academic hangs off it: sections, subjects, enrolment, exams and fees.
When to use it
Once when you set the school up, and after that only when a new grade or programme is added.
Before you start
If you run programmes (college), set up Program first so a class can be attached to one. You need an admin or academic-office role.
Where to find it
Masters > School > Class / Grade.
The fields on this screen

| Level order | Promotion / sort sequence | No |
| Stream | Science / Management / General (optional) | No |
| Semester system | (not explained yet) | No |

How it works
- Once saved, a class is available everywhere else. Section divides it into A, B and so on, Class Subject records which subjects it is taught, Enrollment puts a student into it for an academic year, and an Exam datesheet is written per class.
- Level order is the sequence classes are sorted and promoted in. Keep it rising from the lowest class to the highest.
- Fee charges can be set against a class. When fees are billed, a class-based charge goes to every student whose own record puts them in that class with Status Active, one bill each. The Class on the Student record, not an enrolment, decides the fee they are billed.
- Active controls whether the class is offered. When a grade is no longer taught, untick it instead of deleting the class.
Tips and common mistakes
- Do not delete a class that has been used. Past enrolments, exams and fee bills all point at it. Untick Active instead.
- Give each class its own code and name. Both appear in pickers on other screens.
- Tick Semester system only for classes that really run in semesters, because it changes how the class is treated academically.
