A gallery of ready-made website designs, grouped by business type. You can preview any design with your own products and details before it goes public, and then use the one you like.
When to use it
- Before you set up your website, to choose a starting design.
- Later, to try a new look or to update your design when a newer version comes out.
Before you start
- Your company must have the Online Store add-on.
- Anyone who can open the page can preview. To switch designs you need the right to change Website Settings. Without it, the page tells you to ask whoever manages them.
- On the Free plan you can use only the free designs. Every design is open from the Basic plan.
Where to find it
Setup > Online Store > Website Templates. There is also a Website Templates tile on your dashboard.
The fields on this screen
This page has nothing to fill in. Each card shows a design's name, a picture, the business types it suits, its colour choices and its font choices.
How it works
At the top you see which design your website uses now, or "Pick a look for your website" if you have not chosen one. Use Business type to narrow the list, or keep "All business types".
Each card has:
- Preview on my data: opens the design filled with your own products, logo and texts. Nothing is saved and nothing goes public.
- Use this template: makes it your website's design. The first time, this also starts your Website Settings record, with the website still switched off. After that, it switches the design and keeps everything you typed in Website Settings. If the new design does not offer your colours or fonts, its first ones are used.
- In use: the design your website has now.
- Update to version N: shown when a newer version of your current design is out. Your website stays on its version until you press this.
Adding a record
- Open Setup > Online Store > Website Templates.
- Choose your Business type.
- Press Preview on my data on a few designs and compare them.
- Press Use this template on the one you like and confirm.
- Open Website Settings to finish the setup and switch the website on.
Changing or deleting a record
To change design, press Use this template on another card and confirm. There is nothing to delete here: the gallery only chooses which design your website uses.
Worked example
Ram runs a bakery on the Basic plan. He picks Business type "Food", previews three designs with his own cakes and prices, and presses Use this template on the one he likes. His website is created switched off, and he finishes it in Website Settings.
Tips and common mistakes
- On the Free plan you can preview a design that is not free, but using it is refused with a message that it is on the Basic plan and above. In Website Settings, the Template list marks the free designs with "(free)".
- A newer version of your design is never applied by itself, so your site does not change without you knowing.
- The design sets the look. Your products, prices, logo and texts always come from MISAC and Website Settings.
