One month of electricity meter readings, one row per meter: who pays for it, where it is, the previous and current dial values, the units recorded and what that came to.
When to use it
After the monthly round is recorded and before the bills go out. It lets you check that every meter was read and that no reading looks wrong.
Before you start
- The month's reading round is recorded on the Meter Reading entry screen.
- Meters are assigned to the customers who pay for them, so the report can name them.
- You need permission to open the Rental reports.
Where to find it
It is in two places, showing the same data:
- Reports > Rental Reporting > Rental Meter Reading.
- The Reports panel, under Rental, as Meter Reading.
The fields on this screen
| Filter (on screen) | What to enter | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Year (BS) | The Nepali (BS) year of the reading, as four digits. | Yes |
| Month | The Nepali (BS) month of the reading. The report shows one month at a time. | Yes |
How it works
The report lists the reading rows filed under the year and month you pick, for the electricity service only. Units and Amount are totalled at the foot. Compare that figure with the month's electricity billing.
Previous Reading and Current Reading are the dial values recorded on the round. Current Unit is what was typed as the units used, and the bill is priced on it.
Nothing here changes a bill. To correct a figure, correct the reading round and run the billing again.
Tips and common mistakes
- You need both the year and the month. If either is missing, the report has nothing to show.
- Set the month the readings measure, not the month you keyed them in. A round filed under the wrong month appears in the wrong report and bills in the wrong month.
- A meter missing from this list was not read, and that charge will be left unbilled. Chase it before the bill run, not after.
- Amount is the value held against the row. Where a service has a minimum charge, it is not the units times the rate shown.
- Water and other metered services do not appear here. This report covers electricity only.
- The For Next Month Reading box on this screen does nothing. Ignore it.
