The daily attendance sheet for one class and section on one date. It has a line per student, marked Present, Absent, Late, Leave or Excused.
When to use it
Every teaching day when the roll is called, and again later if a student's mark has to be corrected.
Before you start
The Class, the Section and the Students must already be on file. The class and section must also be marked active, or they will not be offered. Taken by is chosen from the staff list, so the teacher marking the roll needs a staff record.
Where to find it
Entry > School > Attendance.

How it works
Fill the sheet in as one record: the class, section and date at the top, then one line per student below. Saving keeps the sheet exactly as marked. It posts nothing to the accounts, and it does not touch fees, results or the timetable.
The student lines feed the Attendance Summary report, which works out each student's attendance percentage over a range of dates. Nothing else uses this screen. A missing sheet therefore shows up in that report as a lower percentage, not as an error.
To correct a mark, reopen the sheet for that date and change the line. There is no second copy: the sheet is the record.
Tips and common mistakes
- Nothing stops you saving a second sheet for the same class, section and date. Check the list for the day before you start a new one, or the percentage will be counted twice.
- The student list shows first names only, so take care when two students in a section share one.
