The worked-out result of an exam, one line per student: marks obtained, percentage, GPA, grade, division, rank and whether the student passed.
When to use it
After an exam's marks are in and its results have been published. You check a student's standing here, or hand the rank sheet to the class teacher.
Before you start
The Exam, its subject list with full marks and pass marks, the grade scale it uses, and the marks themselves must all be in place. This screen is read-only: you cannot add, change or delete a result here. Results are produced by publishing the exam on the Exam screen, which needs permission to update an exam.
Where to find it

How it works
Publishing an exam's results works out, for every student who has marks in that exam:
- total obtained against total full marks, giving the percentage;
- the grade and the grade point, read off the grade scale attached to the exam;
- the division from the percentage: Distinction from 80, First from 60, Second from 45, Third from 32;
- the rank, worked out within the class;
- pass or fail. A student who was absent in any subject, or below the pass mark in any subject, is marked Fail, and the grade and GPA are left blank.
Publishing again after a mark is corrected replaces that exam's whole set of results. Re-publishing is safe, and it is the only way to change what is shown here. The lines feed the Exam Result Summary report.
Tips and common mistakes
- If a student is missing, they have no marks recorded for the exam. Fix that on Mark Entry and publish again.
- A blank grade next to a filled-in percentage is not an error. It means the student failed a subject.
- Rank is within the class, not across the whole school.
