Gross and net salary totals for each payroll period, so you can see how the wage bill has moved.
When to use it
At a review or a board meeting, to show the payroll cost over time rather than for one month.
Before you start
- Payroll periods must exist and salary slips must have been run against them.
- You need report access for Human Resource.
Where to find it
Reports > HR & Payroll > Payroll Trend. It is also on the menu under ERP > Human Resource.
The fields on this screen
This report has no filters. It always shows every payroll period for the whole company.
Reading the report
- One row per payroll period, in the order the periods start. Month is the payroll period's own name, so the labels read exactly as they were set up on the period master.
- Gross is the total of the earning lines on every slip in that period, overtime included. Net is what was actually paid: gross, less deductions, less the cut for unpaid leave.
- The gap between the two lines is therefore deductions plus unpaid leave, not deductions alone.
- A period that exists but has no salary slips shows as zero rather than being skipped. A run of zeros means periods were created ahead of time, not that pay stopped.
- Every member of staff is included; there is no way to narrow this report to a department or a person. Use Department Wise Salary or Salary Sheet for that.
Tips and common mistakes
- A sudden jump usually means two periods were paid in one, or a period was run twice. Check Salary Sheet for that period before reporting the number upward.
- Because the labels come from the period names, an inconsistent naming habit on the period master makes this report hard to read. Fix the names there.
