A school notice or circular: what it says, who it is for, and the dates it applies between.
When to use it
When you need a circular on record. It might be a holiday announcement for the whole school, an exam instruction for one class, or a message for a single section.
Before you start
If the notice is for a class or a section, that class or section must already exist and be active. Only active ones are offered. Have any attachment (a scanned letter, a routine) ready to upload.
Where to find it
Entry > School > Notice.

How it works
Choose the Audience first, because the rest of the form follows it. Pick Everyone and the class and section pickers stay hidden. Pick A class and the Class / Grade picker appears. It must then be filled in, and the save is refused if it is left blank. Pick A section and both pickers appear. Both are required, so you name the class and then the section within it.
Publish date and Expiry date set the window the notice is meant to be current for. Saving records the notice against the audience you chose, with its attachment. Nothing is sent out from this screen.
Tips and common mistakes
- Set the Audience before you type anything else. Changing it afterwards hides the pickers you have already filled in.
- A class or section notice needs its picker filled in. With Audience set to A class, the notice will not save until a Class / Grade is chosen. With A section, it will not save if either is left blank.
- A notice cannot be aimed at one student. The Audience list offers that choice, but the form has no place to name the student. Use A class or A section instead.
- Give the notice a title someone can find it by later. The title is what shows in the list.
