One line per day, with the value of the sales items invoiced on that day.
When to use it
For a quick day-by-day shape of trading: which days sold and which did not.
Before you start
- Sales invoices are entered for the days you want to see.
- You need permission to open the Sales reports.
The filters
This report has no filters. It opens on the full history of the company you are signed in to.
Where to find it
Reports > Sales & Distribution > Summary > Daily Sales.
How it works
Each row is one invoice date, and the amount is the total of the sales item lines dated that day. Nothing is written back: correcting a figure means correcting the invoice behind it.
Tips and common mistakes
- There is no date range on this screen, and any dates you pass in are ignored. The list always runs from the first invoice date to the last, so scroll to the period you want.
- The amount follows the item lines only. An invoice raised without item lines, or an amount added as a charge rather than as a line, shows as zero for that day, so the daily figure can be lower than the revenue you booked. Use the Financial Statement or the Ledger when you need the revenue actually posted to the accounts.
- Unlike Daily Purchase, this list does not separate posted invoices from drafts.
