One round of meter readings: you pick the month, the service and the part of the property you walked, then record a row for each meter you read.
When to use it
Every month, after the meters have been read. Metered services such as electricity cannot be billed until the round for that month is recorded.
Before you start
- Meter and Meter Assignment must exist, so each meter is linked to the customer who pays for it.
- Service, Block and Floor must be set up.
- The customers must be registered, since each reading row names the paying customer.
Where to find it

How it works
- The round is filed under a BS year and month. Billing finds readings by customer and by that BS month, and adds up the units across all the meters a customer holds.
- Metered services are billed one month behind. File the round under the month it measures, not the month you enter it in, or the bill for that month will find no reading.
- Units is what billing actually charges on, and you type it in yourself. That is on purpose: when a meter rolls over, is replaced during the month, or runs backwards after a repair, the unit count is not simply current minus previous.
- The next time the bill run starts, each customer's metered charge is priced from the units recorded here. A charge with no reading for the month is skipped and reported as unbilled. A missed round therefore shows up as a missing bill line, not a wrong amount.
Tips and common mistakes
- Every row needs a Customer. A reading row saves without one, but billing cannot see it.
- A zero is not the same as no reading. A real zero produces a zero-value line. Leaving the meter out altogether leaves the charge unbilled.
- Record the previous and current dial values as well as the units. You check against them when a customer queries the bill.
- One round covers one service. Read electricity and water into separate rounds.
- Units cannot be negative, and the year must be a real rental billing year, 2070-2100. Both are checked when you save, so a stray minus sign or a mistyped year is refused.
- To correct a round you already recorded, edit it. Do not add a new round for the same customer, month and service. A second round for the same period does not replace the first. Billing adds both together and doubles the units charged, and MISAC does not stop you or warn you. Open the existing round and change the row instead.
