The material issue and consumption register: everything taken out of the store in a period, with the item, the quantity and the cost centre it went to.
When to use it
At month end to see what was consumed and by whom, and when a cost centre or site queries the material charged to it.
Before you start
- Consumption documents must be entered and posted. A draft issue is not on this register.
- Products, units and cost centres must exist in their masters.
- You need report access for Inventory.
Where to find it
Reports > Inventory > Issue Register. It is also on the menu under ERP > Inventory.
The fields on this screen
| Filter (on screen) | What it does |
|---|---|
| From Date | Start of the period this report covers. |
| To Date | End of the period this report covers. |
Reading the report
- Every row is one issued line, not one issue document. An issue of five items is five rows sharing a date and an issue reference.
- Qty is a movement, and it is totalled at the foot of the report. Because the total mixes items measured in different units, only read it after narrowing to comparable items.
- Unit is the unit that quantity is stated in. Sub Item is the variant, where one was chosen.
- Cost Centre is what the material was charged to. This is the column a site or department will argue about, so check it before circulating the register.
- Only posted consumption documents appear. This is stricter than the Stock Ledger, which includes drafts. If an issue is on the ledger but not here, it has not been posted.
- Date and Miti are the same day in the English and Nepali calendars.
Tips and common mistakes
- Set From Date and To Date deliberately. The defaults cover the current month only, so a query about last month comes back empty until you change them.
- Other kinds of stock going out, such as sales and returns to a supplier, are not consumption and are not on this register. Use Stock Transaction for everything that moved.
