One row per raw material used in production, with the date, the document it was consumed on and the quantity taken.
When to use it
To see what production used over a period, to check consumption against a formula, or to explain a fall in raw material stock.
Before you start
- The Finished Goods Received documents for the period are entered, with their material lines filled in.
- You need permission to open the Production reports.
Where to find it
It is in two places, showing the same data:
- Reports > Production > Raw Material Consumption.
- The Reports panel, under Manufacturing, as Raw Material Stock.
The fields on this screen
| Filter (on screen) | What to enter | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Product | Pick one or more products. Leave it blank to include every product. | No |
| From Date | Start of the period this report covers. | No |
| To Date | End of the period this report covers. | No |
How it works
The report reads the Finished Goods Received documents and keeps only their material lines. Each row is one raw material taken out of stock on one production document.
It is a consumption list only. It does not show opening or closing stock, and it does not put a value on what was consumed. For stock on hand, use the stock reports. For what a run cost, use the production costing reports.
Tips and common mistakes
- Quantities are added across whatever materials are in the list, so narrow the report to one material before you read a total.
- Material issued to the store but not yet used on a production document is not here. This report shows consumption, not issue.
- If you leave both dates blank you get the whole history. Set a period.
- Whatever its name in the Reports panel, this report does not show stock balances or valuation.
