One line per salary slip: the employee, the payroll period, payable days, gross pay, deductions and net pay.
When to use it
On every payroll run, to check the slips before they go out. Afterwards it is the sheet you pay from and file.
Before you start
- The payroll period must exist and salary slips must have been generated for it.
- You need report access for Human Resource.
Where to find it
Reports > HR & Payroll > Salary Sheet. It is also on the menu under ERP > Human Resource.
The fields on this screen
| Filter (on screen) | What it does |
|---|---|
| Employee | Limits the report to one employee. Leave it blank to include everyone. |
| Payroll Period | Limits the report to one payroll period. Leave it blank to include every period. |
| Department | Limits the report to one department. Leave it blank to include every department. |
| Branch | Limits the report to one branch. Leave it blank to include every branch. |
Reading the report
- Payable Days is the number of calendar days in the pay period. Unpaid leave is charged as a share of pay over those days, so in a short month each unpaid day costs more.
- Gross is the total of the earning lines, overtime included. Deduction is the total of the deduction lines.
- Net is gross, less deductions, less the unpaid leave cut. So Gross minus Deduction can be larger than Net, and the difference is unpaid leave. This is the most common query on this sheet. If the arithmetic looks wrong, check the person's approved leave.
- Status is the state of that slip. Check it before paying, because an unfinished slip still shows here with its figures.
- Set Payroll Period. If you leave it blank, the sheet lists every slip ever raised and the same person appears once per month.
Tips and common mistakes
- A person missing from the sheet has no slip for that period. Run payroll for them; no filter will bring them back.
- To see which components make up a person's gross and deductions, run Salary Pivot for the same person and period.
